Play on a European table 

If you have a choice, always play on a table with a European wheel. The difference between an American roulette wheel and the European wheel is the American wheel has an extra slot for a '00'.

A European Roulette wheel has the numbers 1-36 and only one ‘0’ slot. The extra slot in the American wheel makes the odds of winning slightly worse than on a European wheel.

The Martingale System

The Matingale system strategy had the gambler double his bet after every loss, so that the first win would recover all previous losses plus win a profit equal to the original stake.

Example of how it the Martingale System works:

You bet $5, you win, so you bet $5 again. Then you lose, so you bet $10. You lose again, so you bet $20. You lose again, so you bet $40. You lose again, so you bet $80. Then you win. Your net win on that series was $5, and since you won $5 before your losing streak, you're ahead a total of $10. 

If you could always double your bet when you lose you could alway guarantee to come out ahead. But in real life you can't always double your bet.

• You could run out of money at some point and be unable to double your bet.
• Most casinos limit maximum bets to $500-1000 so e ven if you have enough money to double up, you could ultimately reach the house limit and not be able to continue to recover your losses.

The Martingale System could only works if there is no upper table limit. An upper table limit means that, in the long run, you will end up with less money than you started. Like all betting strategies, in the long run the math is against you.

The Martingale system only works successfully in the short term. For example, you could win 9 times out of 10 but the winnings from your 9 successful session will not cover your losses from the 1 losing session you are bound to come across sooner or later. Casinos always have the edge on your money rather than the other way around.

Progressive Bets

Progressive bets are also a common roulette betting strategy. In progressive system you start with a fixed amount, your bet will increase according to the value of your winning value.

Example of Progressive Bets

You started off with $5 and win, the next bet you place will be $10. If you win again it goes up to $15 .You progressively lower your bets by $5 when you lose.

This strategy is a short-term winning strategy only and like all systems it isstill an act of gambling , that is you are gambling that you will win a small amount before you lose a huge amount.

Set a limit and always walk away winning
